Pumpkin Pie Cake by Algie Petrere

1 (29-oz) can pumpkin
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1/4 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 sticks butter
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch pan.
Mix together pumpkin, eggs, sugar, milk, giner, and cinnamon and pour into pan.
Sprinkle dry cake mix over mixture.  Melt butter and pour evenly over cake mix.  Top with pecans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until knife comes out clean.
If desired, top with cool whip or vanilla ice cream.

Serves 12-15.
