And, Zephaniah Powell's team in purple and gold is loaded with top prospects the Tigers and others want for February's signing day.
Defensive lineman Ishmael Sopsher is the top prospect in the country at his position and his big plays in the scrimmage against Kentwood are what we've been seeing since he started as a freshman.
The offense struggled against the Kangaroos, but there's talent there, including the "other" Devonta, Devonta Lee, who used to team with Devonta Smith, who made the game-winning catch for Alabama's national championship.
"With Devonta, who's at Alabama, he's more smooth, more thin of an athlete," said Powell. "Our current Devonta, he's physical. He's been a four-year starter for us. Came over as a freshman. First game he saw, he played in it. Had a very good, productive freshman year, sophomore year. And last year, he took off for us. He's big, he's athletic, he's strong. He's going to play multiple positions for us on offense. Last year, we played him some at quarterback. He looks good. Works out hard, extremely hard in the weight room. If cornerbacks try to walk up on him, he'll hurt them."
