CATS plans public hearings about changes to routes

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - If you're planning on taking the bus in the near future, you will want to stay in the know because CATS is looking to change some of its routes.

The transit system is planning three public hearings on the matter.

The first is happening Tuesday night from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at BREC headquarters on Florida Boulevard.

Some of the proposed changes include eliminating three routes, including the express shuttle service between the Baton Rouge Metro Airport and downtown, while adding a new route along Blount Road.

The CATS staff will be on hand at Tuesday night's meeting to answer any questions people may have.

The other two meetings are scheduled for:

Wednesday, August 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Downtown Development Office, located at 247 Florida Street
Thursday, August 16 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Charles Kelly Community Center, located at 3535 Riley Street

The changes are set to go into effect in January 2019.
