BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - It wasn't that long ago Southern University junior running back Darbbeon Profit was making plays for the Southern Lab Kittens, then he chose to stay home and play for the Jaguars.
Profit spent 2016 as a back-up and then last season, he redshirted after tearing his hamstring one week before the season opener.
Now, Profit says he's back, healthy, and ready to make an impact.
"I'm just real excited to be back on the field," said Profit. "I was waiting on camp to start. Like, I was ready. I was the first back here to check-in. I was ready to go. It was a hurt feeling sitting out, but the recovery process went well. A week after my surgery, I was back in the weight room working my upper body, getting stronger up there. And, after like two weeks, I was back. I had taken my brace off and was working my leg out getting it stronger."
The Jags open their season at TCU on Saturday, September 1.
