BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Sportsline Friday Nite makes its 2018 debut in less than three weeks with our Jamboree edition, but our Sportsline Summer Camp features continued Thursday night with a look at the Belaire Bengals.
The Bengals were only able to claw their way to a pair of victories in 2017. They are now sweating and working hard to make 2018 better.
Second-year head coach Kevin Jackson is very proud of his coaching staff and the job the team has done this summer. Players like running back Keston Johnson Jr., quarterback/wide receiver Jamal Brown, and defensive back Grayson Dixon Jr. hope to lead a team that plans to be better acclimated to big boy football.
"Being in 5A last year, it was kind of a shock, because we didn't have the numbers," said Jackson. "Difference between this year and last is we've been consistent working out. We'll be much better this year, even though we're in 5A. We're expecting a lot more out of this group because they've been putting in the work."
