Sportsline Summer Camp stopped across the Mississippi River in Brusly, where the Panthers begin year two with head coach Hoff Schooler.
Schooler missed most of last year's off-season after arriving in June but has 10 seniors and 10 starters back from a 4-6 team that just barely missed Class 3A's 32-team playoff bracket. Brusly finished 33rd in the power rankings while laying a foundation.
"To have an offseason, to get in the weight room with the guys and really get our program in place and build in the offseason was so much better," said Schooler.
"We came from a bunch of selfish players to everybody has everybody's back and we're all trying to better each other," said senior tackle Devin Eschette.
One of those returning starters for Schooler is 6-foot-2, 210-pound sophomore quarterback Nick Penell.
After playing lots of other young guys and a full off-season of conditioning, the Panthers are ready to make a push toward the post-season.
