WASHINGTON, DC (WAFB) - Former LSU shortstop Alex Bregman will participate in this year's MLB All-Star Home Run Derby.
Bregman has hit 19 home runs this season, along with a .285 batting average, 29 doubles, one triple and 59 RBI.
The Astros third baseman will face off in the first round of the Derby against Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber, who has 17 home runs this year.
The Home Run Derby first-round matchups:

The Home Run Derby airs Monday, July 16, at 7 p.m. on ESPN and the All-Star game is scheduled the following night at 7 p.m. on Fox.
