LSU is red-hot in recruiting for the class of 2019. Their latest commitment, four-star linebacker Donte Starks out of John Ehret.
"It was always a dream when I was small to play for LSU. Well Coach O brings a lot of energy. He treats me like family. He has a lot of energy, and that's what I like about him," said Donte Starks.
Starks will be suiting up for the Patriots this fall for the first time. The senior transferred from Mississippi, and will be vital to Ehret's defensive success.
"Well anytime you can add a guy with his skillset, it can do nothing but help us. We look forward to what he can bring to the table. Not only as an athlete, but as a person in the locker room and the community as well," said Ehret Head Coach Marcus Scott.
Starks is rated the sixth-best inside linebacker in the country by 247 Sports. With more time in Ehret's system, Starks stock can only go higher.
"That's a pretty scary thought. It's just a matter of with talented kids to get them to play at their highest level every week. He has the makeup to do so. If he can do that, that will help us as a defense," said Scott.
The John Ehret Patriots will be tested early in the regular season. Week one they hit the road to face 5A powerhouse West Monroe.
