Port Allen now has budget after disagreement between mayor, city council

PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) - The City of Port Allen now has a budget, more than a week into the new fiscal year.

Mayor Richard Lee vetoed the budget in June because the council took out money he wanted to use to promote city events and build a car wash for city vehicles. That money was only about 1 percent of the city's $9 million budget.

On Wednesday night, the city council voted to override that veto.
