Ascension Parish makes 2 drug arrests involving heroin, cocaine, meth, etc.

ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office made two separate drug this week.

Narcotics detectives arrested Sedrick Thompson, 39, on Monday, July 9 at his home. Detectives executed a search warrant at the home on Highway 61 in Gonzales and reportedly found 9.9 oz of methamphetamine, 26 g of heroin, 14 g of cocaine, 1 lb of marijuana, suboxone, a digital scale, and cash.

Thompson was arrested and booked on the following charges:

  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • Possession with intent to distribute heroin
  • Possession with intent to distribute cocaine
  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to distribute suboxone
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

No bond has been set at this time.

And in a separate incident, narcotics detectives arrested another man on Tuesday, July 10 for similar drug offenses. After receiving an anonymous tip that someone was selling drugs out of their home, detectives were able to conduct a search at the home on Bureau Street in Sorrento.

During the search, officials reportedly found methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, fentanyl, suboxone, and vyvanse, as well as three handguns and about $3,500 in cash.

Beaureau is charged as follows:

  • Possession with intent to distribute suboxone
  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to distribute heroin
  • Possession with intent to distribute fentanyl
  • Possession with intent to distribute vyvanse
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (3 counts)
  • Illegal carrying of weapons (3 counts)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
