BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A woman and her mother are in jail after allegedly conducting a prostitution scheme where the mother would act as a lookout for the daughter.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that on July 5, they were conducting an investigation targeting prostitution at the Super 8 Motel on Reiger Road in Baton Rouge. During the investigation, officers found Latesha Bennett's, 22, ad on the Backpage.ly website, where she was allegedly soliciting prostitution. An undercover officer then met with Latesha at the Super 8.

Latesha and the officer then negotiated a deal to exchange sex for money, then assisting officers came into the room and arrested Latesha.

BRPD official say Latesha's mother, Amber Bennett, was also arrested. She was reportedly seen sitting on the stairs next to the room. Amber allegedly worked with Latesha to help her get "dates," set up ads on the website, and stand as a lookout while Latesha was on her "dates."

Amber was also arrested and reportedly admitted to police that she assists Latesha with her "dates." She also reportedly admitted to being in possession of 3 g of marijuana, which she took out of her purse and gave to officers. It was also found Amber had an active warrant out for her arrest.

Both women were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
