AMITE, LA (WVUE) -

Amite alum Devonta Smith sealed a Tide victory with this overtime touchdown against Georgia. Now another, Devonta, Devonta Lee is also grabbing the national spotlight with his big-play ability for the Warriors.

"With Devonta who's at Alabama, he's more smooth. More thin of an athlete. Our current Devonta, he's physical. He's a physical specimen. About 6'2", 218, 219 pounds right now. He looks good. Works out hard, extremely hard in the weight room. If cornerbacks try to walk up on him, he'll hurt him," said Amite Head Coach Zephaniah Powell.

Lee is also considering the Tide, and visited Tuscaloosa recently.

"Coach Saban talked to me real good. Said I'm a great athlete. I'm a great hard hitter. Catch the ball, got strong hands," said Devonta Lee.

Saban, Coach O, and a host of other Power Five coaches will see Lee playing at numerous spots this Fall.

"He's been a four-year starter for us. Came over as a freshman. First game he saw he played in it. Had a very good, productive freshman year, sophomore year, and last year he took off for us. He's big, he's athletic, he's strong. He's going to play multiple positions for us on offense. Last year, we played him some at quarterback," said Powell.

Lee won't pick a school until National Signing Day, and that's next February. Right now his sole focus getting the Warriors to the Dome. Last year they came up one game short.

"I just can't get football off my mind, it stays on my mind. Ever since we lost to St. Helena 35-32, all I can do is remember that game, 35-32. That's why we got to keep working. Cause look, other teams are working just like us to get in the position we're trying to get to. Back to the Dome. Get this ring for the team," said Lee.
