MORGANZA, LA (WAFB) -

An arrest has been made after four people were shot in Morganza Thursday afternoon, investigators say.

The Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff's Office reported two people suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at a hospital in New Roads via a private vehicle Thursday afternoon. Those two victims were later flown by helicopter to Our Lady of the Lake in serious condition.

A third victim, who was shot in the abdomen, then arrived at Our Lady of the Lake about an hour or so later. That victim is also in serious condition. Then, a fourth victim, who was shot in the leg, drove himself to a hospital in Hammond, officials say.

Officials believe these shootings are connected. They say all four victims were shot on Deaton Lane in Morganza.

Capt. Steve Juge with PCPSO said three of the victims remained hospitalized as of Friday afternoon.

Officials made an arrest in the case Friday afternoon as well. Junathan Brown, 20, of Morganza, was taken into custody. He was also wanted on outstanding warrants for improper telephone communication and video voyeurism. No bond has been set.
