BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU outfielder Zack Watson has been named to the 2018 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team.
This year the sophomore center fielder was perfect on defense, posting a 1.000 fielding percentage and recording six outfield assists.
Outfielders Brandon Lockridge of Troy and Jake Mangum Jr. of Mississippi State joined Watson on the gold glove team.
At the plate this season, Watson hit .308 with 15 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 34 RBI, 47 runs and 14 stolen bases.
Watson, along with pitcher Zack Hess and outfielder Antoine Duplantis, will join LSU head coach Paul Mainieri on the 2018 USA Collegiate National Team.
Mainieri is serving as the head coach of Team USA.

The first ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were recognized in 2007, making this the 11th year the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards have been presented in the collegiate and high school ranks.
