BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police asked the public to be on the lookout for a man accused of a beating that left the victim unconscious and someone contacted authorities to report his whereabouts.
Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers reported Adrian Ard, 52, who was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department, has been arrested.
Investigators said Crime Stoppers received a tip that Ard was in Raceland. They added the information was passed on to the US Marshals Task Force and deputy marshals took Ard into custody after following up on the tip.
According to police, Ard and another man got into an argument on Gibson Avenue, which is just south of Thomas Road near Gibbens Road, in Baton Rouge on May 14.
Detectives said Ard grabbed a metal hydraulic jack handle and started hitting the victim, leaving him unconscious.
They added the victim suffered severe injuries from the attack.
Ard is facing a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
