RELATED STORIES: All about Donna Britt

Since joining the WAFB News Team in 1981, Donna has led viewers of Louisiana's News Channel through countless major news events with her calming voice and professional demeanor.

Donna said:

Thanks WAFB for a wonderful, challenging, stimulating career. Thank you for also being my friends. I also want to thank you, the viewer. So many of you made me a member of your family – I love that. Where will you find me? At the Farmer's Market on Saturday, at BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo – I'll try to make every ALS or MDA fundraiser that I can.

At this point, former WAFB employees and those closest to Donna filled the set. As Donna delighted with the sight of so many people, she joked, "Is there cake?"

Thank you, Donna Britt.
