Tiger pitcher Zack Hess, along with outfielders Antoine Duplantis and Zach Watson, will join LSU head coach Paul Mainieri on the 2018 USA Collegiate National Team.
Mainieri is serving as the head coach of Team USA.
“Certainly, I’m very pleased that Antoine, Zack and Zach will be with Team USA this summer,” Mainieri said in a release.
“They are great ball players and first-class young men that will represent our country with dignity. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime for them, and they will benefit tremendously from the experience.”
Hess appeared in 16 games in his first year as a starter for the Tigers and finished with a 7-6 record and a 5.05 ERA.
He pitched in 92.2 innings, allowing 83 hits and 52 earned runs while striking out 107 batters.
This season Duplantis hit .328 with 13 doubles, six triples, two home runs, 48 RBI and 19 stolen bases.
