BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Longtime WAFB anchor, Donna Britt, received an honorary jersey from LSU Director of Athletics Joe Alleva just ahead of her retirement.

Britt announced her retirement Wednesday, June 6. This comes after she announced in July of 2017 that she was battling ALS.

On Monday, June 11, Britt was presented with an honorary football jersey with the #18 on it. It's one of the top honors the school bestows upon its players. They presented it to Britt for her nearly 38 years serving Baton Rouge. Alleva sent Britt a letter accompanying the jersey.

Britt's last night on air is Wednesday, June 13.
