BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Emergency crews responded to a small aircraft on fire at the Baton Rouge Airport Friday afternoon.

The call went out around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, June 8. A spokesperson with the airport says during pre-flight, before takeoff, a twin engine prop jet caught fire due to something sparking near the engine. The BTR fire team was able to quickly extinguish the fire. One person was on-board the plane.

No injuries were reported in the incident, say emergency officials. There was also no impact to overall operations at the airport.
