BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man is facing a cruelty to juveniles charges after allegedly beating his two young children.
The Baton Rouge Police Department says officers were called out to a home on Boulevard de Province about a disturbance on Thursday, June 7 just after midnight. When officers arrived, the accused, Alexander Dabney, 26, reportedly told officers he had punched and whipped his 8-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter after he found them in a bed under the covers with their underwear down.
According to the report, Dabney said he punched and beat the boy because he "acted like a man by trying to have sex with his 4-year-old sister."
Both juveniles had obvious bruises on their legs, the report states, but there were no obvious signs of disfigurement. Both children were evaluated by EMS.
Dabney was arrested and charged with cruelty to juveniles.
