BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Councilman Lamont Cole, along with the MLK Community Center and GROW Baton Rouge, hosted GROW Baton Rouge Farmers and Makers Market on Saturday, June 9.

The event was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MLK Community Center on Gus Young Avenue.

It gave visitors a chance to buy home-grown produce from vendors in the Baton Rouge area. It also taught attendees skills like cooking with fresh foods, which GROW Baton Rouge said is vital to the future of our communities.

The next farmers market will be on Saturday, June 23.
