EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - This Friday night may have brought back a few memories for seniors in East Baton Rouge Parish.
For the first time, they boogied and enjoyed a senior prom hosted by the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging (EBRCOA). They were hoping to give elderly resident the chance to build new friendships, meet new people, and create new memories, while also thinking about the past.
"This is an opportunity for seniors in this parish to relive old childhood memories, get an opportunity to do something that they didn't do. There's a lot of seniors that have never been to prom. It's an opportunity to engage our seniors that go to our senior centers and those that don't," said Tasha Clark Amar with EBRCOA.
The prom wrapped up around 10 p.m.
