ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A Eunice man is facing rape charges after he gave a sexually transmitted disease to two juveniles, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office said Friday.
Travis Jermaine Robinson, 34, is charged with three counts of second-degree rape and a sexual battery charge.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Juvenile detectives started their investigation on April 30, 2018, after a 12-year-old girl reported that Robinson had sexual intercourse with her.
The girl told St. Landry Parish authorities Robinson pulled down her pants before having sex with her. She had later tested positive for an STD.
On May 1, 2018, detectives interviewed Robinson, who denied touching the 12-year-old. A DNA search was showed that Robinson tested positive for the same STD that the 12-year-old girl had.
Investigators said they received another report on May 15, 2018, from a 14-year-old girl. She said Robinson had touched her private area and had sex with her in January. The girl also tested positive for the same STD as Robinson.
Robinson was arrested and booked into the parish jail. His bond was set at $250,000.
