EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - On Thursday, Mayor Sharon Weston Broome led local officials on a tour around the parish, showing off the work of the Blight Strike Team.

She says right now, they're demolishing about five to nine homes each week to get rid of abandoned areas and to help neighborhoods continue to grow.

"This will certainly add to what they're trying to do as a neighborhood and as a community to keep their neighborhood growing and thriving, and so we want to see this happen all over the city and parish," said Broome.

If you've got blight in your area, call 311 to report it.
