BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - One man is now in custody and charged in connection with a deadly shooting that happened on May 11.
On Thursday, May 31, the Louisiana State Police Task Force arrested Willie Mitchell, 40, in Vermilion Parish. He has been charged in connection with the shooting death of James Young, 56, which happened on N 47th Street.
Another man, age 43, was critically injured in this shooting. Both victims were reportedly outside a home playing dominoes when Mitchell walked up and began shooting.
Mitchell was transported back to Baton Rouge and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.
