BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Louisiana woman was one the ten people killed in the tragic mass shooting at a Texas high school.
Cynthia Tisdale, graduated from Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge and is a native of Thibodaux, La. Tisdale was an art room teacher's aide at Santa Fe High School.
Her son, Recie Tisdale, told the Washington Post that his mother loves children and teaching.
"She started substitute teaching because she loved to help children," he told the Washington Post. "She didn't have to do it. She did it because she loved it."
Tisdale and her husband, William, have been married for nearly 40 years. She had three children and eight grandchildren, according to KHOU TV.
The suspect, Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, has been charged with multiple counts of capital murder. He made his initial court appearance Friday evening by video link from jail, the Associated Press reported.
