A breakdown of crime statistics at senior citizen apartments along Hooper Road

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

An elderly man was robbed of his car keys at gunpoint in the parking lot of his senior apartment complex Monday morning.

The man, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, lives in Hooper Springs Apartments. He said he's not just worried about himself but his fellow residents.

WAFB 9News Investigators analyzed crime reports of the immediate area from the Baton Rouge Police Department on the website Open Data BR

There have been 26 reported crimes at Hooper Springs since 2015, including six thefts and six vehicle burglaries.

Across the street from Hooper Springs is The Gardens Senior Apartments, where 19 crimes have been reported since 2015. 

In the apartment complex to the right of Hooper Springs, Cypress Springs, there have been 50 crimes reported since 2015.

Over 300 crimes have been reported since 2015 at Hooper Pointe, which is the large apartment on the other side of Cypress Road from Hooper Springs.

The following is a breakdown of the types of crimes reported at each of the four apartment complexes since 2015.
