BR Regional: Meet the Fordham Rams

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU welcomes Louisiana-Lafayette, Houston and Fordham to the Baton Rouge Regional at Tiger Park this weekend.

The No. 1 seeded Tigers start regional play against No .4 seed Fordham Friday night at 5:30 p.m.

The Rams come to Tiger Park with a 33-21 overall record and are riding a six-game winning streak.

Fordham ended the season with an 18-4 record in conference play and wrapped up their sixth consecutive Atlantic 10 championship.

The Rams are batting .274 as a team and average 5.5 runs per game.

The hitting attack is led by Chelsea Skrepenak, Skylar Johnston and Paige Rauch.

Skrepenak has a .329 batting average, with three doubles, three triples, eight home runs, and 33 RBI.

Johnston is hitting .320 from the plate, with 12 doubles, 14 home runs, and 39 RBI.

Rauch is batting .311, with seven doubles, five triples, 16 home runs, and 44 RBI.

The pitching staff has a 2.81 ERA this year and is led by Rauch and Madie Aughinbaugh.

The power-hitting Paige is a pretty good pitcher as well. She is 14-2 this season, with a 1.55 ERA and two saves.

Aughinbaugh is 16-7 with a 2.75 ERA and one save.

Houston and Louisiana-Lafayette start the regional Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
