BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A town hall meeting was held in Baton Rouge Thursday night and featured the nationally known political strategist, Angela Rye.
She spoke about being a strong advocate for your own community. Rep. Ted James was also on hand for the event. Panelists included BRPD Chief Murphy Paul and Councilman Lamont Cole, among others.
"Work woke and what that means to me is the importance of putting our consciousness into action. Applying the knowledge that we've gained to ensure change in areas that we know haven't changed for some time," said Rye.
Rye will also be the keynote speaker during Friday's commencement ceremony at Southern University.
