CENTRAL, LA (WAFB) - Emergency crews responded to the scene of a fire at the Burger King on Greenwell Springs Road in Central.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8. Officials with the Central Fire Department say the location had a grand reopening ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. before the fire broke out. It's believed the fire started outside in some mulch and traveled up the wall.
According to officials with BRFD, District 6 and Central Fire both responded to the call as well. There were people inside the restaurant when the fire started, but no injuries have been reported, officials say.
The fire has caused significant damage to the building.
