Kids, musicians wanted for movie filming on North Shore this summer

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Central Casting Louisiana is hosting a casting call to find talented kids and musicians to act as extras in the upcoming movie Troupe Zero filming on the North Shore this summer.

Troupe Zero, set in the 1970s, stars Allison Janney, Viola Davis, Jim Gaffigan, and McKenna Grace. Filming is scheduled from May 22 to June 30 in Ponchatoula, Mandeville, and Lutcher.

The open casting call will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 12 at the ballroom of the Clarion Inn and Suites in Covington.

The casting company is looking to cast the following:

  • Kids – girls and boys ages 8-12
  • Girls Performance Groups – girls 8-12 with cool, quirky talents that can be performed together (dance, gymnastics, baton twirling, etc.)
  • Musicians – adults (18 years or older) to play musicians (guitars, fiddles, and harmonicas are a plus).
  • Cars – filmmakers are also in need of cars made before 1976, in any condition

Those who are cast will be paid a rate of $94 per 10 hours of work.

All applicants must complete the federal I-9 form. The list of required documentation for the I-9 form can be found at https://www.centralcasting.com/i-9-doumentation.

Mary Huber, a spokesperson for the casting company, says this casting call is for new registrants only. Those who have already registered with Central Casting Louisiana will be considered for Troupe Zero and future film projects.

Huber said for those people who are already registered but wish to update their profile, can stop by the Central Casting Louisiana office in New Orleans during normal business homes.

Those who wish to update their profile will not be able to do so at the casting call on Saturday.

She also recommends attendees of the casting call to dress accordingly for the casting call as they will be seen by casting directors, producers, and directors.
