BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A memorial was held Monday evening for a Baton Rouge rapper shot and killed last week.
Family and friends of Louis Robinson Jr. gathered to celebrate his life. The 29-year-old was shot Wednesday afternoon on Cadillac Street. No arrests have been made yet in the case. His parents say Louis was safer serving in the Army than he was on the streets of Baton Rouge. They told the crowd that stopping the violence starts at home.
"Our parents we have to get more involved with our kids. From kindergarten, from pre-k, if we start there and start training them and teaching them how to love one another instead of looking at them and saying, 'Oh I don't like him.' What you don't like him for? You don't even know him," said the victim's parents.
Robinson's funeral will happen Saturday, May 12 at New Light Baptist Church on Blount Road. It starts at 11 a.m.
