BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man has been arrested and is accused of raping a woman, say officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department.

On Monday, May 7, just before 4 a.m., officers were dispatched to a home in reference to a sexual assault. When officers arrived, the victim reportedly told them the man, later identified as Sheldon Ross, 20, had held her down by the wrists and raped her. She says she told him numerous times to stop, but he did not.

Officers were able to located Ross on Greenwell Street and arrested him. After reading him his rights, Ross reportedly admitted to the rape and told officers "he didn't mean to do it."

Ross was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of simple rape.
