BATON ROUGE, La. - The No. 13-ranked LSU softball team run-ruled the No. 16-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks, 10-2 in five innings to claim the series on Saturday night in Tiger Park. With the win, LSU improves to 39-13 and 12-10 in conference play while Arkansas falls to 37-13 and 12-11 in the SEC.
Arkansas answered the very next inning with a lead-off solo home run and a sacrifice fly to tie the game up at two apiece.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Shelbi Sunseri hit a two-run home run, scoring Shemiah Sanchez and extending the lead to 8-2. Senior Sydney Loupe would later come in to pinch hit and picked up her first career hit as a Tiger and was eventually the game-ending run thanks to a single by Griggs, giving the Tigers the 10-2 win.
