BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department are investigating a double shooting that left a 29-year-old man dead, and another person injured Friday afternoon.

Officers were called just before 6 p.m. to the 2200 block of Nairn Drive, which is near Bawell Street, after receiving word that a shooting had taken place.

Emergency responders transported two individuals, Desmond Hardnett, 29, and a 32-year-old female to a local hospital to treat gunshot wounds. Hardnett later died due to his injuries. The injuries to the 32-year old female appear non-life threatening.

During an initial investigation it was determined that shots may have been fired from a passing vehicle. Officials say there is no suspect or motive to report at this time.
