PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA (WAFB) - The Coast Guard has announced it's suspending its search for a missing Baton Rouge man who was thrown into the water in a boating accident Wednesday.
The search was suspended at 3:36 p.m. on Friday, May 4. Crews searched 2,417 nautical miles for the missing man, identified as Donald Tabb, 85. Involved in the search were:
- Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter aircrew
- Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew
- Coast Guard Station Venice 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew
- Coast Guard Cutter Sailfish crew
Tabb was involved in the deadly boating accident Wednesday. A man from Texas was killed in the incident and another man was able to swim to safety. The incident happened near Port Eads.
