BATON ROUGE, LA - The Louisiana Office of Community Development is encouraging public comments on an Action Plan Amendment to create a new program and reallocate disaster funding for recovery from the Great Floods of 2016.
Action Plan Amendment 8 would create the First Responders Public Services Program by moving $8 million from administration and other planning expenses.
The amendment also seeks to move $7 million from the Neighborhood Landlord Rental Program, which has experienced lower than anticipated demand, into the Piggyback Rental Program, which has experienced higher than anticipated needs.
The formal public comment period for Action Plan Amendment 8 begins May 2, and continues until 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 15. Residents, community leaders and elected officials can leave comments here and view the plan by clicking on the respective APA link.
