BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Now that the NFL draft is complete, a host of former LSU Tigers are now moving on to professional football.
One of them is former defensive lineman Christian LaCouture, who despite a very productive senior season, went undrafted.
LaCouture did, however, sign a free agent deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
"It's definitely frustrating," said LaCouture. "You see guys coming off the board that you know you're better than. But you can't do anything. People are making the calls. And you have to sit there and wait. My calls didn't come until after the draft. I was dealt the cards I was dealt and I have to make the most of the opportunity."
His best friend and fellow defensive lineman, Greg Gilmore, who also had a big statistical season and also went unpicked, signed a free agent deal of his own.
"And Greg, too. Greg is going to a great organization in Pittsburgh. We're both in the NFC North, which is funny. I guess we can't leave each other alone. So, I'll see him twice a year," LaCouture added.
