BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana seems to be moving in the right direction, at least in some areas.
Governor John Bel Edwards says our economic landscape is strong. He delivered the message before business leaders at the Old State Capitol Museum Tuesday afternoon. The governor talked about various economic development projects happening throughout the state, especially in north Louisiana. He also says the state has a hit milestone that has not been achieved in more than a decade.
"We sit here right now, it's the first time in ten years the State of Louisiana has funded higher education without a cut relative to the previous year and we have fully funded our scholarship program, TOPS, at the same time. People, that is good news," Edwards said.
The governor also discussed the importance of investing in education, which he says will help further the economy.
