LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA - Over 105 vendors have signed up for the 7th Annual Livingston Parish Chamber's Business & Community Expo and Job Fair presented by Jefferson Financial Federal Credit Union. The event draws nearly 1000 people annually who are interested in hiring businesses, learning more about the parish and there to enjoy the fun energy of the event.

New for 2018 is the Restaurant Challenge, sponsored by Allstar Automotive Group, where restaurants will offer taste samples of their dish of choice in the hope of winning the public's choice. They will compete in a friendly environment for the bragging rights as the best in Livingston Parish. A Facebook poll, through the Livingston Parish Chamber's page, is another way restaurants can win. Through the poll, restaurants have the opportunity to encourage their patrons to vote for them.

States Kacie Stewart, Expo Committee Chair, "The Restaurant Challenge came about in a committee meeting with the group decided to bring attention to our restaurants in Livingston Parish. The public has been very excited about this, and the restaurants are looking forward to the friendly competition. We held a space for the first twelve restaurants that committed to participating in the event."

"There are a lot of things going on at this event, and it works. We have businesses that are hiring and meeting with potential employees. We also have the business to business relationships which are important. Attendees have a unique opportunity to learn more about their community and the businesses and organizations that are a part of it. It's an important part of the chamber's work to showcase the parish's assets, and this event allows for that, plus its exiting and fun!" mentions Aprils Wehrs Chamber President.

Vendors will offer over 50 door prizes throughout the event valued at more than $25.00 each including a kayak, Disney on Ice tickets, High value coolers, free movie passes and more. The event is open to the public, and there is no charge to attend. It will be held on Tuesday, May 1st from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Suma Hall Community Center off I-12 at the Satsuma Exit.
