Deputies say on April 7, they responded to a home on Carol Drive in reference to a home invasion. The victim told deputies a man had entered the home and ransacked the bedroom. The man reportedly took the victim's cell phone and purse, which contained several debit and credit cards.

During the investigation, it was found one of the stolen cards was used at the Walmart in Gonzales. APSO deputies were able to get surveillance footage from the store and identify the man involved as Nicholas.

Then on Saturday, April 28, deputies, along with help from the Gonzales Police Department, located Nicholas, who reportedly had a large quantity of illegal drugs in his possession at the time.

Nicholas was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail with a $67,000 bond.
