City, state officials celebrate Workers Memorial Day

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Workers Memorial Day is celebrated on April 28, and unions across the nation take time to remember those who have been killed, injured, or disabled on the job.

In Baton Rouge, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome joined the Louisiana Workforce Commission for a memorial program and live oak tree dedication ceremony.

The ceremonies also serve as a time for labor organizations and advocates to fight for safer and healthier work environments.
