BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officer Jared Neyland with the Baton Rouge Police Department is now back home after a pickup truck crashed into his police motorcycle one month ago.

Family and friends, plus many of fellow officers, filled his home Wednesday as he moves to the next step of his recovery, something he knows he won't have to face alone.

"It means the world to me. The family and the support that we've got in law enforcement and my motor family and other motor families. It means the world to me," said Neyland.

His support group has planned a benefit to help Neyland with his recovery financially. The event is set to happen at Blackie's on Sullivan Road on June 16.
