BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Secretary of State Tom Schedler faced some tough questioning for his office's sexual harassment policies Wednesday at the capitol.
The questions come as Schedler is accused of harassing a woman who worked in his office. The woman also claims Schedler punished her when she denied his advances.
Schedler told senators his office would provide recommendations to improve its policies by the week's end.
"It shouldn't be addressed by agency where one agency is different than the other, so that would be my comment that it should start right here and it should be something that is consistent across. And we will look at that. I will assure you and this committee that we're going to look at that," Schedler said.
Schedler says he will remain out of the process pending the sexual harassment lawsuit.
