Events moved due to repairs on downtown library

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Leaders are expected to provide an update Friday on the repairs happening at the River Center Branch Library in downtown Baton Rouge.

Some events are having to be relocated due to repair work going on at the construction site.

Engineers discovered structural issues at the library, which is under construction, last week. Several nearby streets had to be shut down out of an abundance of caution. Now, more streets are being shut down as well as large equipment gets moved into the area to perform the remedial work.

The following events have made changes moved due to the repair work:

Wine on the River scheduled for Saturday, April 28, has been moved to the Riverfront Plaza. For more information on that event, click here.

Walk MS: Baton Rouge, a free awareness fundraiser planned for Saturday, April 28 at North Boulevard Town Square, will continue as planned despite the expanded construction plan. The Walk MS team will make minor adjustments and move all festivities to North Boulevard and 4th Street. For more information on that event, click here.

We will continue to update this list if more changes are announced.
