BAYOU L'OURSE, LA (WAFB) - A woman was arrested after deputies were called to a home on a reported domestic disturbance and she allegedly confronted the investigators with knives in her hands.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office reported Felicia Tharp, 42, of Bayou L'Ourse, is facing several charges related to the incident.
Sheriff Leland Falcon said Tharp was armed with two knives when his deputies made it to the home on Aristle Road in Bayou L'Ourse to investigate.
He added the deputies eventually used a stun gun on Tharp because they were unsuccessful at getting her to cooperate. According to reports, Tharp continued to act violently after being arrested.
Officials said Tharp was taken to the Assumption Parish Detention Center for booking and attacked a corrections officer.
She was booked on charges of domestic abuse aggravated assault, battery of a police officer, resisting arrest, battery of a correctional officer, simple criminal damage to property, and resisting arrest by force or violence.
Officials added she remains in jail pending a bond hearing.
