FRANKLINTON, LA (WAFB) - One of our viewers who now lives in Denham Springs got a lot of attention from a picture posted on social media. And judging by the likes and shares - it also got your attention.
Johanna Stroud's sister posted this pic of young men kneeling during a pickup basketball game in Franklinton, Louisiana. The young men were playing basketball when they noticed a funeral procession going by... out of respect they stopped playing and took a knee.
Johanna says this bold but simple act of kindness and respect touched the family in their time of grief.
The young men say their basketball coach taught them to show respect to others and on this day, this was their way.
We salute that coach - and these terrific young men. While it's sometimes easy to point out what's wrong with a younger generation, it's also important to point out what's right.
That's Our Turn - now it's yours... To salute these young men or comment on anything else - stop by our Facebook page or send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
