BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Students at LSU are bagging up 20,000 pounds of sweet potatoes to help feed hungry families in Baton Rouge.
It's all a part of the annual LSU Potato Drop. A local Louisiana farmer has donated the potatoes which will be bagged and sent to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and the LSU Student Food Pantry.
The Society of St. Andrew works with Kitchens on the Geaux and LSU Campus Life to make this event happen each year.
Students also participate in the event as a part of National Volunteer Week.
