Police arrest driver whose BAC was reportedly twice the legal limit at time of crash that killed couple

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A driver, whose blood-alcohol level was reportedly more than twice the legal limit at the time of a crash that killed a Baton Rouge couple, has been arrested on vehicular homicide and other charges.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported David McCoy, 34, of Amite, turned himself in Wednesday in connection with the crash that left Gatveyea "Gabby" Williams, 30, and Jonathan Williams, 29, dead.

McCoy was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of vehicular homicide (2 counts), DWI, red light violation, speeding, and careless operation.

Reports state his blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) was .19 percent. The legal limit in Louisiana is .08 percent.
