Try as the Lakers might, but they couldn't stop Anthony Davis Wednesday night. His 41 points and 15 rebounds paced the New Orleans Pelicans to a 139-117 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at home. Davis went 15-for-18 from the field with three assists, three steals and two blocks. Jrue Holiday had 24 points and 11 assists as the Pels went into the All-Star break on a three-game winning streak.
It was was the highest scoring game of the season for New Orleans and Davis was a big contributor to that output with his 31-first quarter points in the teams franchise record scoring 46-point first quarter.
The Pelicans will now go into the All-Star Break with a 31-26 record and locked into the eighth and final playoff spot.
